Citronella essential oil is a versatile oil that is extracted from the leaves and stems of various species of Cymbopogon or Lemongrass. This oil is a rich source of perfumery chemicals like citronellal, citronellol, and geraniol that are widely used in various industries including perfumery, cosmetics, and flavoring.
The oil is obtained from a robust grass that grows up to 1 meter in height and is indigenous to Sri Lanka and Java. The oil’s pleasant aroma and ability to repel insects make it a popular choice for producing candles and torches for outdoor use, often in combination with Cedarwood.
Odour Profile: A top note of medium aroma, Citronella has a well-rounded lemony scent, though it is much softer and has subtle wood tones.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Orange, Cedarwood, Geranium, Lemon, Lavender and Pine.
Dilute before use: For external use only. Dilution is recommended before use. It is suggested to perform a skin patch test before application, especially if you have sensitive skin. Avoid direct contact with eyes as it may cause irritation.
Storage: For optimal freshness and maximum shelf life, we recommend transferring oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) into dark glass containers for storage purposes.
